3 Qualities of Good Writing

3 Qualities of Good Writing

Everyone is capable of writing, everyone will write something, but everyone’s writing will be critique and categorize as good or bad writing. The most wonderful and energetic writing in its pure form must be refined by the qualities which governs written English language.
Terry Pratchett stated “Let grammar, punctuation, and spelling into your life, even the most energetic and wonderful mess has to be turned into sentences.”
So what is good writing? Good writing is a product of the qualities which governs written English language.  There are myriad of qualities which good writing shares and the following below illustrates Three (3) Qualities of good writing:

3. Research-  The sole purpose of applying research in your writing is discovering, interpreting and to allow the content of your writing to advance human knowledge. As a writer your content will be highly critique based on how much research is invested in your writing. Research speaks volume of your work and as a writer you will be judged based on the volume which your writing speaks. Proper research will ensure that the content of your writing is in context, it will reward your writing with credibility and make it highly recommendable for your audience.
Ensure that you research around your writing and not write around your research.

2.Creativity - “You can have the greatest idea in the world, but if you can’t communicate your ideas, it doesn’t matter” whispered Steve Jobs.  Creativity is paramount in written language. It involves personifying extracted notions from your mind into written communication. Applying creativity to your writing can be difficult and challenging, but instead of just presenting the facts, the writer gets articulate his/her content in a way which will bring appeal, interest, uniqueness and attraction to his/her writing.

1.Conventions -  Conventions are rules of written language which serves as a courtesy to readers by enhancing the credibility, readability and understanding of your writing, since misspelled words and grammatical errors creates a barrier between your audience and your message. Applying proper conventions to your writing such as spellingpunctuationcapitalization, paragraphs and grammar are like adding the finishing touch of perfection to your writing.

One additional quality, not part of this list is proofreading. Proofreading is the final and crucial step that must be taken before you consider your document complete. Proofreading your work allow you to evaluate the formatting of your document, making sure it is readable and that you were consistent with your indents, line spacing, and margins. Consider printing a hard copy of your document rather than just proofreading from the screen. Proofreading builds a corrective relationship between the writer and what’s written. Ensure that relationship is maintained. Read your document three times for grammar, once for word definitions, comprehension, and flow. Proofreading your document out loud can help you to identify errors and evaluate the tone of your document.

Follow the above guidelines, but always strive above to make your writing exceptionally original, creative, credible and correct.

LATER DISRESPECTS AND CALL HIM "WAISTE MAN"

The last presidential visit to Jamaica was by Ronald Reagan on April 8, 1982.

Thirty-Three (33) years later, the island of Jamaica rolled out the red carpet for a visit by the first African American sitting US president, Barrack Obama.

The president of the United States of America, Barrack Obama, arrived at the Norman Manley International airport in Kingston, Jamaica on April 8, 2015. A date similar to that of the former president, Ronald Reagan.

The visit of the 44th and current president of the United States of America, Barrack Obama, sparked and fueled the attention of the entire nation of Kingston, Jamaica.

The spirits of many were lifted, and lots of positivity surrounded the arrival of president Barrack Obama as well as his arrival stirred a lot of controversial topics and frenzy which were expressed through social internet mediums.

Local and International reggae artist, Jamar Rolando McNaughton Jr, prevalently known as Chronixx expressed his repulsion when he posted on his official Instagram page, a portrait of the Jamaican national hero, and political leader, Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Jr. The image was caption in Chronixx own words “This man…Still have a criminal record in The United States and we glorifying some waste man! This man was hunted and imprisoned by our Jamaican government…who some years later paved a peaceful and safe path for the U.S. President to address us ..a “race of good for nothings”!!! That’s why black faces don’t mean anything to Rasta anymore”

It is believed that the reggae sensation, Chronixx expected that the prime minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson Miller would have capitalized on the opportunity of U.S President Barrack Obama’s visit to Jamaica to re-sight and pardon Marcus Garvey US custody in the year 1923 and to clear his name at home in Jamaica.

Marcus Garvey’s binder is registered in the FBI Records Vault.

Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Jr. is a Jamaican born immigrant, who was a founder and staunch proponent of the Black Nationalist movement. In the aftermath of World War I, the FBI examined Garvey’s activities, looking to extradite him as an undesirable alien. Marcus Garvey was convicted in 1922 on a mail fraud charge in connection with some of business and organizational activities in which he was involved. Garvey’s sentence was later commuted by President Coolidge.
